Donor Development Officer

The incumbent is working closely with the Assistant Donor Development Manager to maximise the support from major individual donors and corporate partners for carrying out our work on advancing children and girls’ rights in developing countries and in Hong Kong.

PRINCIPAL ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Assist in planning and executing corporate and major donor’s fundraising initiatives to meet the fundraising goals.
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with existing and potential corporate and major donors; handle on-going communication and respond to their enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare proposals and appeal materials to seek for new and existing corporate and major donor’s support.
  • Prepare work updates/reports to keep the corporate/major donors informed of the fund use.
  • Seek corporates and major donors’ sponsorship on our fundraising events and engage them to support our work through various beneficiary events and collaborations.
  • Maintaining and update major individual and corporate donor records.
  • Conduct donor and market analysis to develop insights and best practices for developing effective fundraising activities.
  • Provide support on administrative and operational tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION:

  • A recognised degree in Business, Marketing or Communications disciplines

KNOWLEDGE / JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience with major individual donors/corporate donors in NGO or in sales and marketing field and/or with client management experience
  • Highly skilled in stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Good presentation and writing skills
  • Proficient in computer application including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Chinese word processing
  • Proficient in using photo editing tools (e.g., Photoshop, Canva) would be an advantage
