Introduction
Plan International strives for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We cordially invite young people who are interested in social and child protection issues to join ‘Be a Change-maker 2019’. Throughout a series of activities from October 2018 to May 2019, participants will take the first step to becoming global citizens through learning, researching, and taking action to make a voice for children around the world, especially for girls in poverty and dire situation.
Training Workshops and Community Seed Projects
Through joining the local workshops and experiential activities, participants will learn about concepts of global citizenship and child protection. Participants will also have a better understanding of local communities. With Plan International Hong Kong’s ‘Be a Change-maker’ seed funding, participants will plan and execute their own community seed projects to address the child protection issues they care about, and to create positive changes in the community.
7-day Exposure Trip to Cambodia
As part of ‘Be a Change-maker 2019’, participants will visit Cambodia in February 2019. With the support from Plan International Cambodia Office, participants will visit the child protection and youth advocacy programmes supported by Plan International in local communities to learn more about situation of local children. Participants will also meet with Cambodian youth to share their advocacy experience in promoting child protection in the community.

Eligibility
- Aged between 15 and 21 (as of the departure date of the exposure trip)
- Have a passion for global citizenship and child-safeguarding issue
- Willing to take action to advocate rights for children and youth, and to make a voice for children around the world, especially girls in poverty and dire situation.
- Priority will be given to applicants who:
have joined youth activities organized by Plan International Hong Kong; and/or
with recommendations from school teachers/ affiliated organisations
Fee
HKD$ 2,000 (Participants that have fully attended and actively participated in all activities may receive Plan International Hong Kong’s ‘Be a Change-maker’ Scholarship (HKD$2,000))
