In compliance with the new Personal Information Protection Law (PIP-Law) in the Mainland, Plan International has paused the collection and processing of data of sponsored children, as their personal data is defined as sensitive data.
  • With regrets, the annual updates of sponsored children and all correspondence between sponsors and sponsored children is unfortunately continue to remain suspended.We assure that the sponsorship projects in the Mainland haven’t been suspended, all programmes with children, youth and communities continue. This means the sponsored children, along with many other children in the community, will continue to benefit from the sponsors’ generous contributions.

  • Operations of the Child Sponsorship Programme have been temporarily suspended. As a result, sponsorship-related communications will also be paused during this period.

Bolivia

All Programme Units Country security is affected by the public order situation.
  • Delivery of digital communications have resumed while hard copy of sponsor letters and gifts remain suspended.
Colombia PU 4017 Cauca-Valle:
21 affected communities
Security risks caused by public disorder.
  • Some improvements in the situation; sponsor communications are possible with some delays in the affected communities, except in one community with a permanent restriction.

Ecuador

Haiti

  • Suspension in delivery of hard copy of sponsor letters and gifts while digital communications continue; sponsored children’s annual visits will be conducted when possible, hence expect delays in annual updates.

  • Delivery of hard copy sponsor letters and gifts is not possible in the 12 communities; digital communications can continue with some delays.

Sudan

  • Delivery of sponsor communications (both digital and hard copy)  is not possible in the 5 affected communities. Sponsored children’s annual visits are suspended, hence expect delays in annual updates.
