With a charitable donation of just HK$8 a day, Child Sponsorship Programme assures that you will be supporting the children and even their family and community in six main areas including education, early childhood development, protection from violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights, skills and decent work and young people driving change. The programme also aims to improve their quality of life as a whole so they can move out of poverty and attain self-reliance.

  • Trained up 309 teachers on mental health and psychosocial support, and about 6,000 children and youth were supported with their emotional well-being in Ethiopia
  • Provided training on the Safe School framework, and disaster risk management to 641 teachers and supported 96 primary schools to develop a Safe School roadmap and a Disaster Risk Management contingency plan in Cambodia
  • Supported children at risk of dropping out by delivering school kits, uniforms, and bicycles to 357,373 children, providing hygiene kits to 13,176 girls, and supporting 50 schools through school meal programmes in the Middle East, Eastern and Southern Africa

    • Strengthened Community-Based Women and Child Protection Committees through training in 118 villages in Tanzania to address gender-based violence and protection issues. This included the development of action plans to create awareness on reporting, and strengthen community support and referral mechanisms.
    • Carried out advocacy and influencing work with young activists and contributed to the government’s new National Action Plan on gender-based violence in Timor Leste

    Renaming the Chinese name of Child Sponsorship Programme

    To enhance the public’s understanding of the programme, Plan International Hong Kong is now renaming the Chinese name of the Child Sponsorship Programme, from “助養兒童計劃” to “培幼兒童成長計劃”, while all English names remain unchanged. For details, please click here.
